Does it hurt?
Veneers and crowns are done under local anaesthesia, so you feel no pain during treatment. Whitening needs no anaesthesia; some patients feel temporary sensitivity in the first few days.
How long does it take?
Veneers are made in 2 stages, over a short period. A classic CAD-CAM crown is ready in 5–7 days, and a 24-hour crown the same day or the next. Whitening takes a single session.
Veneers or crowns: which is right for me?
Veneers cover only the visible front of the tooth and suit healthy teeth with shape or colour issues. Crowns cover the whole tooth and are the solution for fractured teeth, root-canal-treated teeth or teeth with large restorations. Your dentist will recommend the right option at the consultation.
How long do they last?
Ceramic veneers and crowns don’t stain and, with good hygiene and check-ups every 6 months, they last for many years. On our cases page you can see a patient at a check-up after 4 years. Whitening can last up to 2 years if you follow the advice you receive.
Can I see the result beforehand?
Yes. With Digital Smile Design we show you the proposed shape of your smile on the computer, and before the final work we check the shape and shade together.
